Low burners, low heat

My grill is about five years old with never a problem. Now it wont develop much heatg and if I turn on the second and third burners it has a tendency to blow out.  It was this way before I refilled the tank and is again this way with the tank refilled.  I am afraid to fiddle with the flow limiter valve or whatever they call it on the tank unless it is safe to do so.  Seems like it is not a tank problem anyway if the problem persists after the tank was refilled and with the spare tank too.  Thanks, Jane

Hello,It sound like your back burners have a partial blockage or possibly are rusting or falling apart or have cracked seams. Remove the cooking grids and burner shields, and examine the burners closely. If you can't find a blockage inside (spider web, bugs nest, etc) then their condition is probably deteriorating. Let us know if you need more assistance.

Check your instruction manual, you have probably set off the safety valve in your propane tank. It is set to trigger if there is an open connection, such as turning on the jets when the tank is turned off. You may have to re-connect the tank...careful of course, make sure it's valve is off.

Silver C 2000 Model heats to 420 degrees with all 3 burners on Low. Normal? Weber support service has given me conflicting information. With 2 burners on Low it heats to 310-320 degrees.

That's fairly common with the lid closed and a day that is not too cool. Keep in mind that a gas flame is about 800F. Try using only one burner on low or between on and high to get a lower temperature. This is a grill, not a smoker or slow cooker. It will run cooler with a large amount of food.

Weber Silver Genesis C regulator purging gas after reset process

This could be caused by a couple of problems. First the regulator could be bad, or the tank is getting to hot. Which causes the relief valve to open and release pressure. This will happen when weather outside is hot.

The new style OPD valves have a small brass ring located in the female fitting on the LP tank. Over time this ring can work loose and then it does not allow the male fitting to fully depress the OPD valve thus reducing your gas flow Using a small flat bladed screw driver tighten the small brass ring This should solve your problemIF not you might want to remove the cap (white) on your regulator and try slowly adjusting the regulator, make small adjustments and try the BBQ My Weber if I set the front and back burners to MED I get right at 350 degrees in 60 degree outdoor temps. Adjusting the regulator will take some time to get it right but If it is not your tank it is most likely your regulator out of adjustment
