Your ceramic burners have cracked, they will send you more but they too will crack after usage.

Hi! Hope you can help us--we have a Brinkman 4-burner grill that is about 5yrs. old. Last yr. we started having problems with burner #2 not lighting all of the way and the burners all looked a bit rusty, so we ordered new burners. Well, after replacing all of the burners we now have NO flame from burner #2 at all (& burner #1 does not get as high of a flame as #3 or #4, even if it is the only burner turned on). My husband tried blowing air & pushing a wire through the venturi tube but it feels like something harder than metal is blocking it. I guess my questions are: 1) Can a spider web get this hard? 2) If so, what do you use to get it out? 3) Can the entire venturi tube be replaced? (my husband said it looks like there would be no way to remove this part, at least that he can see). Thanks for any suggestions--we spent close to $400 on this grill and planned on having it for alot longer than this!

I think you husband is trying to clean the wrong thin. The venturi tube is part of the burner itself. It's the open end of the burner, that has an air intake adjustment on it. It fits over the burner orifice. He may be hitting the orifice, which in fact may be clogged. Remove the offending burners and he will be able to see the burner orifice, which can be removed with the appropriately sized wrench. Once removed try blowing through it. If air doesn't blow through, it's clogged. Clean it with a straight pin that is no larger that the orifice hole. You do not want to enlarge it. Also, the new burners may need adjustment of the venturi for the proper air to gas mixture. Consult you Owners Manual on how to adjust it. Need an Owners Manual? Go to and enter the Model Number of your grill.Hope this helped you to solve the problem. Please don't forget to rate my response to you. Thanks!

I just purchase this grill and was testing all burners .. all of them except the one going to the smoker worked fine .. tried to start it manually but it wont start this way either ... I am assuming that there is no gas going to the burner ... Help ?? What to do next ?? I havent even used this grill yet, not even sure who I should contact .. Ordered from Home Depot Online but it seems more like Brinkmanns coverage.

Yes, it is a Brinkman's problem. But, Home Depot will generally exchange it for a new one. But, first, check the gas line running to the smoker burner. Does it appear to crimped or bent in any way? If this is the case, it won't allow gas to the burner. This may have occurred during shipping or it's a manufacturer's defect. Also, try pushing in on the burner control knob when you manually try to light the burner. Since it's a low output burner for smoking, it may operate differently than the other main grill burners.Hope this heads you in the right direction in resolving your burner problem.

Tec Grill Sterling Model won't stay lit

The dealer is right. The ceramic burner is cracked. It will need to be replaced -- pretty pricey. I have the same problem on my Sterling III. This DOES happen too often. My opinion is that this IS a manufacturing defect. I have called the company about it (they are in South Carolina) and they try to blame the user -- that would be us. Very unfortunate company chooses to act this way. You hear about this problem again and again and again -- it's their problem but sadly, they are making it ours. Remember that when you go grill shopping next time -- I know I won't buy a Sterling grill again. Ever.

Only the first burner will start on my grill and then when I try to start the 2nd sometimes it will start and if it does the flame goes down a lot almost to nothing on both burners and the other 2 burners definitely will not lite. What is wrong I have tried a different tank and that is not the problem

Hello,Most likely the problem is turning the propane tank valve on too fast. Try disconnecting it, reconnecting it and then very slowly turning the tank valve back on. Also make sure that all the grill knobs are turned to off and only light one at a time, turn it to low flame and light the remaining burners the same way. If this does not fix the issue, it could be a a faulty regulator or clogged burners or orifices. I'm banking on the first solution to fix ya. Let us know if you need additional assistance. Thanks, Douglas

I started up the barbecue for the first time to get all of the winter crud off, and when I start it only the outside burners will flame, the middle one asks like its starting but then burns out?

Probably some of the winter crud has clogged the burner and or the venturi valve. Remove the burner, clean it and check the venturi valve for spider build-up. Wouldn't hurt to check the burner orifice too.

Flare behind temperature knobs on jenn-air gas grill

This seems to be a problem for most Jenn-Air users. The burners are defective, rusted or clogged and allowing the flame to "back up." You most likely have a melted electronic ignitor as well as gas valve damage. The new burners that I received this week for my model 720-0061-LP are 1/2 inch shorter than previous versions. Time will tell if this fixed the problem. I would call Nexgrill and get all new burners and inspect the gas valve area for damage. Since 2004, I am on my 5th set of burners, glad they were free since I have a lifetime warranty on my model.
