Kenmore Master Flame Grill

I just moved into a new home and the previous owner left a Kenmore Flame Master gas grill hooked up on the deck. I took a quick look at it and am not able to get the grill to ignite.

Flame appearing from in back of front panel

This is usually a regulator problem, or a gas leak where the regulator line attaches to the back side of the knobs. Test for a gas leak first. You can use a mixture of water and liquid dish/hand soap. Saturate the area where the hose connection is, turn on the tank, but leave the knobs in the off position and do not hit the igniter. If there is a leak, you should see some bubbling where it is. If there is no leak, turn the tank off, open the valves (turn the grill knobs on) and bleed the gas out of the lines. Once it has sat for a few minutes with the knobs in the "high" position, turn them off. Then leave them off and turn on the tank, followed by one of the knobs and ignite the grill. see if the flame went away. I've seen this happen where there is not enough pressure in the line. Turning the tank off, the knobs on, bleeding the line, then closing the knobs and opening the tank and letting the gas build up pressure in the line before turning the knobs back on or trying to light the grill should resolve it.

Charbroil master flame gas grill the flame is either very high or very low

How old is the grill? The size of the holes in the burner is critical. As burners age, the holes rot out, and get bigger. The velocity of the gas exiting the holes has a large effect on flame size. New burner is the most typical solution.

Flame on gas grill is too small

From: http://bbq.about.com/cs/replacementparts/a/aa071100a_3.htm Symptoms and Solutions Low Flame: The grill just doesn't want to heat up. This can be cause by several things. Taking it from the fuel source to the flame, lets start with the burner. Newer propane tanks contain a self regulating feature that will automatically slow down the flow of fuel if it thinks it's too high. This can be solved by turning the tank valve off completely and disconnecting it. Open the control valves (on the grill control panel) and ten close them. Reconnect the fuel tank and slowly turn on the valve. Now light the grill to see if that fixes it. Otherwise check the control valve(s) and venturi tubes for obstruction and alignment. Make sure that the flow of fuel is continuous. Check the burner for clogged gas holes. You can usually see this problem by observing how the grill burns. If there are spots without flame then you probably have a clogged burner.
