Model 141.163211 Kenmore BBQ Grill. Burner tube ignites then after a few seconds flames ignite behind control panel - melted knobs. A year ago same problem. Removed all parts and cleaned, installed new requlator & hose - This fixed it. This time I removed and cleaned all parts again but did not replace requlator - No fix.

It sounds like sealant may need to be used on connections. Use appropriate one for gas fittings. Noting where the leak is occuring is important. Another possibility is the fuel is being somehow "jetted" from a hole or orifice in a burner tube to the area behind the control panel. These are hard to see what happens first when it does happen.

The knob that controls gas flow to the burners was frozen shut. Ordinarily, one has to depress the knob and turn. It was not possible to do either of these. Pushed down hard and turned, and broke valve body (!) Now, I want to know how one can remove the broken valve body. Does it simply unscrew from the manifold, or is it welded to the manifold?

According to the Owners Manual, it appears to be welded. In addition, you can't replace just the one valve, it sold as a complete manifold assembly.Sorry, I wish I had better news. If you'd like to download and print your Owners Manual go to this link.http://www.weber.com/help/manuals.aspx

Hello, I had to clean my grill and in doing so I removed the burners. After putting it back together, the burners will now ignite when trying to use the igniter switch. I can ignite them by use of a lighter. I did notice there is a spark where the wire goes into the knob area, I did not see one a spark at the end of the electrode closest to the burner. I did get shocked by the electrode as I hit the igniter switch. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks, Bob.

The ignitor(s) have apparently lost their ground. You may have disturbed a wire(s) when you removed the burners to clean them. Trace the wiring to each of the peizo ignitors (what the spark comes off of) and make sure they are tight (pushed up on the prong of the piezo) Also, where you saw the spark, remove the wire and reattach it. It is probably lose. The ignitor button/assembly is grounded to the grill frame. Make sure it's attached tightly.Once you correct the parking wire, I think you will have solved the problem.Happy Grilling!!

Main Burners completely rusted out; control knobs to burner...

Get replacement burners and preheat them once. Then paint them with high temp enamle paint to withstand the temps of the grill. The burners are regular untreated steel and not the stainless that one would expect. Painting them will prevent them from rusting out after 2 years. Just make sure you temper them once before you paint them as they will expand a little. Then paint them and enjoy!

Individual burner knobs not functioning

This is a problem with the regulator. Sounds to me like the pressure coming from the regulator is too high. You can get these regulators at most major hardware stores or directly from the manufacturer. Hope this helps
