Road trip grill loses heat after 5 to 10 mins

You could have a bad regulator.

Hi, I have just bought a Weber 100 BBQ. I have a

You have a couple of questions. In order: 1. Flame may not be visible because it burns very clean. 2. When they say 'turn gas off', they actually mean 'turn gas tank off'. 3. It's not necessary to remove the tank after every use. Just make sure the gas valve is off and the entire grill and tank are covered. I do remove the tank, and store it in an outdoor shed during the winter.

It won't put out enough gas to cook. Can only use one burner at a time because it will not put out enough gas volume or pressure to burn more than one. And that one has to be on high in order to get enough flame to cook as if it were on low. I've changed the regulator, the gas bottle( several times) and blew air through the lines to be sure the lines and the burners were not obstructed. What would be your next suggestion. Because for what I paid for this unit and the very few times I have been able to use it without cussing and trying to figure out why it can't do something as simple as blow gas through a line, I think someone should be replacing it with something else comparable. That would my suggestion. Because I love to grill out and feel sick everytime I look at $700.00 worth of new junk sitting there unusable.

Many newer grills have a safety feature built in where the valve will not allow gas to flow if the burner valve is in ON position when the valve on the tank is opened. Try this - Shut of all valves, disconnect and then re-connect hose to tank, turn on valve above LP tank, THEN turn on burner valve, light w/ spark or match... This feature can be really frustrating if you don't know it is in operation...

Flame is not adjustable

CLICK HERE for your owners manual in PDF format. There should be a noticeable difference in flame when you turn the control knob. You will need to disassemble the burner, and clean the orifice tube in the burner (see arrow). Use compressed air, and/or thin wire to probe and clear out any obstruction. Something is restricting the flow - either grease/food or an insect. If you find it clean - your only other replacement part in the grill is the regulator. Often time the diaphragms fail in the regulator, and there is no repair - you can only purchase new. Parts are ONLY available through the manufacturer - CLICK HERE for a direct link to the gas regulators and compare to the ones from your unit. Thanks for using FixYa!! If further clarification is required - please us the "Continue With This Expert" option so we are connected in the future. Thank You :D

Sounds like you need a new regulator.

Motorhome with propane line made for bbq. Bbqs (2 different brands) will light, but wont cook. Flame height very minimally affected by HI-Med-Low setting, but both bbqs work fine on other propane sources, small bottles, other motorhomes, etc. Other propane appliance on subject motorhome works great, propane level not low-no spiders/webs in lines or bbqs. Flex propane line/fittings to bbq works fine on other motorhomes. No quick disconnect fittings in use. Motorhome supply line not clogged as other appliance-(stove in motorhome) works great. All connections checked repeatedly for obstruction, teflon tape reside, other obstructions-none found. Problem 1 1/2 yrs old.

Are the burners blocked or the orfice or the gas on /off controls blocked

I just hooked up an LPG bottle and hose to my Weber Q, and when I light it, the flame is very weak. In fact, the flame extinguishes after about 10 seconds. I can't seem to get the proper flow of gas to the burner assembly.

If using the adapter hose for large tank weber has had problems with hose call weber and get new one or call bbq galore and ask for a 4ft. adapter hose 214-696-0030

I have an old but trusty MasterFlavour Char Broil LP Gas BBQ 4635801 with built in Accuflex 451-05 5/16" hose (1 psi max) and standard US/Canadian regulator but I am now in the UK and want to know if I can use it here, and if so do I need to change the regulator or the hose and regulator? Most UK suppliers seem to use a 27mm propane clip or threaded regulator. Thanks S

Yes, Susan, you will need to change the Hose/Regulator Assembly. You can probably pick one up at any store that sells gas grills and accessories. I suggest that you take your old one with you for comparison purposes., when you go to purchase one. In the USA, the assembly runs about $30.00.Happy Grilling!!

My Weber Q100 bbq's burner burns with a low flame with no significant difference between High and Low settings. My Calorgas agent tells me that there is sufficient gas in the bottle and that the regulator appears to work properly. The small brass valve dispensing gas into the burner tube is not blocked and the control knob also appears to work properly. The burner apertures are clear.

The problem you describe is indicating a malfaction of the gas valve the one you describe small brass valve. There are some specialist which can fix the valve like cleaning and adjusting but for the cost of your valve is better to replace it with a new one. Here we have a link with replacing parts for your model so if you are little handy you can replace it your self.
