None of my igniters on my 30400043 Ducane grill will light the burners. I've had a grease fire due to the burners rusting out and replaced the burners. The insulation on the wires to the igniters has burned off. Do I need to buy a whole new manifold or is there replacements for the igniters? Do the clickers go bad? I'm very disappointed. I bought this grill 3 years ago thinking it's the last I'd have to buy and here I am replacing parts 3 years later. I also don't think the infra red elements are getting hot enough. When running they can be blown out. I don't use them often and have run it for 45 min or so and got a steady flame. I'll try the rotisserie tomorrow. It'd be a shame to waste a good piece of meat. Anyone else having these problems? Got solutions?

As I tell customers, when they ask me, "How long will this grill last?" "That depends on well you take care of it with routine maintenance and cleaning."The wiring for the electronic ignition and the spark ignitors are replaceable. The ignitor button or the "clicker" as you called is replaceable. But all you may to do, is change the battery inside the igniter button. To help you further, i have included a link to the Owner's Manual for your grill. It will have an exploded view of the parts, which should help you identify them by part number and order them from Ducane, if you like.http://help.weber.com/manuals/ducane/2008%20Manuals%20pdf/20529916_030308.pdfA far as the infrared burners are concerned, they blow out easily if the wind is just blowing slightly. That's why they have a thermocouple on the burner, to turn the gas off to it, when it gets blown out. When preheating an infrared burner, the hood/lid of the grill should be closed.I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

The crossover tube won't ignite past the first few inches from the front element. I have tapped it to clear it, cleared teh little side holes and even ran a wire through it (as a few of the holescollapsed together when i started cleaning it. I could buy a new crossover, but want to make sure it is not because of a weak tank or something. Tank is new and the other elements ignite with a match.

If the cross over tube burner has rusted to the point of collapse is a pretty good indicator that it needs to be replaced. I personally, don't see in correlation between LP tank and the collapse of the crossover tube burner. A weak tank, as you called it, would not have any bearing to it.Now, if you're match lighting the other burners and the flame height remains low, even when turned to high. That's a problem with the grills regulator, which can easily be solved.Turn the Tank Valve OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank. Open the tank valve VERY, VERY Slowly (Slow motion, slow), until the valve is fully open. Light the burner farthest from the tank first and turn the burner to HIGH. If the flame height now, looks correct, light the remaining burners the same way. If all the flame heights have returned to normal, you solved that problem.if it didn't solve the problem, you need to replace the grill's hose/regulator assembly and the crossover tube. The hose/regulator assembly can be purchased at any home center or hardware store, that sells gas grills and accessories. Tank the old one with you for comparison purposes. The Crossover Burner can be purchased from Weber or Factory Appliance Parts http://www.appliancefactoryparts.com/Hope this aids you in troubleshooting and solving the problem. Please let me know. Thanks and Happy Grilling!!

What is the bottom of the kenmore gas grilled called?????

Hello Dee, Sorry you didn't get exactly what you thought you were getting but you should be able to find the model of the oven section ( top part of grill) and locate a tag of some sort that youcan bring with you to Sears ( they market Kenmore) Service deskand they should be able to track down all the parts you need to complete it ( You'll be looking for the base cabinet that matches the oven ).. They should also be able to provide you with assembly directions too.. Good Luck...

Conversion kit or fix for LP to NG for the Char-Griller

I removed the jets and drilled them out, #54 is what I started with and then moved up from there to get a good flame( gas pressure may be diffrent in your area). I went to lowes and purchased the universal gas line for grills. Item #: 206469 from lowes, I removed the hoses from the valves, and proceeded to remove the regulator from the hose. After that, i used a 1/4" npt coupling, and a 1/4/" NPT to 3/8" Flare fitting( fits to hose). I drilled a hole in the brace that is under the clamshell(it says UP) that way I had a place to relive stress from the hoses. I threaded the Coupler to the Y then threaded the Flare fitting thru the sheet metal and then the coupling. This was an easy mod minus the garage in disarray, my precision calipers on loan, and 3 trips to the hardware store. The connection that goes to the house is a 3/8" NPT Female, my house has 1/2" pipe, The one wasted trip to the store is because i didnt bring the fitting with me to the store and assumed the size was 1/2 to 3/4(Rookie Mistake). It was 35 degrees when I finished this mod, and on high for all 3 burners, I got it to 675F in a hurry. the needle was still creepin up, but that is when I said that was good enough for me. I used my lathe to drill out the jets, ksware is correct with how easy the jets break. I broke the one in the side burner. I will make another one when I get an hour or two. Good luck to you and happy grilling. Little Elm, Tx.

I replaced an ignition switch on my grill and again it is not functioning. It has new batteries but no clicking or igniting any of the spark ignitors. Is it still an ignition switch problem or could there be something else that is affecting or burning out my ignition switch?

First off, is the battery installed in the proper position. The positive (+) end should be facing out. I that's not the problem, check the ground wire to make sure it is connected solidly and no rust in underneath it. Then check all the wires to each ignitor , making sure they are not damaged.
