Tec grill problem

I have a TEC Pattio II. I have owned the grill for almost 10 years and TEC grills have a ten year warranty on many of the parts including the burners. The burners on my grill have a ceramic inserts. Usually the main problem is a pop and loud whooshing noises indicate the ceramic insert or the seal on the burner is "cracked". I have replaced both of the inserts and burners on my grill once about 5 years ago under warranty. I have one burner now that will not stay burning and I contacted TEC today regarding the problem, and I will replace the ceramic insert only under warranty. . YOUR BEST OPTION IS TO CONTACT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE GROUP AT TEC. THE TELEPHONE NUMBER IS 1-800-331-0097. TEC IS LOCATED IN COLUMBIA SC. TEC HAS A USEFUL WEBSITE at note that parts are not longer available for the Patio I and the Sterling I. Support for these models was discontinued September 2007. I was told today parts for my Patio II will be available into the 2020's. The TEC grills are so unique, I would be concerned with putting non TEC parts on the grill. Your low heating could be caused by this decision.

Tec Grill Sterling Model won't stay lit

The dealer is right. The ceramic burner is cracked. It will need to be replaced -- pretty pricey. I have the same problem on my Sterling III. This DOES happen too often. My opinion is that this IS a manufacturing defect. I have called the company about it (they are in South Carolina) and they try to blame the user -- that would be us. Very unfortunate company chooses to act this way. You hear about this problem again and again and again -- it's their problem but sadly, they are making it ours. Remember that when you go grill shopping next time -- I know I won't buy a Sterling grill again. Ever.

RUSTED GUTS: The interior metal on our Thermador grill is completely rusted out/ corroded. Thermador informed me that they no longer make or service the grills. The exterior is in excellent condition and it still functions. However the rusted metal drip panels have fallen onto the drip tray. It seems a shame to have to replace the entire grill, but how do we fix this?

Your best bet is to take the pans and metal pieces in question to a local metal fabrication shop and have them make some for you. It will be quite inexpensive to have them made, they are very simple for a metal fab. shop to whip up. This is definitely what I would personally do, Tim

I need to replace my patio gas bottle...

Always remember the threads are reverse on a gas cylinder and you are likely tightening this joint if your going the wrong way. some also have a quick disconnect and are like an air chuck and should be removed this way.

None of my igniters on my 30400043 Ducane grill will light the burners. I've had a grease fire due to the burners rusting out and replaced the burners. The insulation on the wires to the igniters has burned off. Do I need to buy a whole new manifold or is there replacements for the igniters? Do the clickers go bad? I'm very disappointed. I bought this grill 3 years ago thinking it's the last I'd have to buy and here I am replacing parts 3 years later. I also don't think the infra red elements are getting hot enough. When running they can be blown out. I don't use them often and have run it for 45 min or so and got a steady flame. I'll try the rotisserie tomorrow. It'd be a shame to waste a good piece of meat. Anyone else having these problems? Got solutions?

As I tell customers, when they ask me, "How long will this grill last?" "That depends on well you take care of it with routine maintenance and cleaning."The wiring for the electronic ignition and the spark ignitors are replaceable. The ignitor button or the "clicker" as you called is replaceable. But all you may to do, is change the battery inside the igniter button. To help you further, i have included a link to the Owner's Manual for your grill. It will have an exploded view of the parts, which should help you identify them by part number and order them from Ducane, if you like. far as the infrared burners are concerned, they blow out easily if the wind is just blowing slightly. That's why they have a thermocouple on the burner, to turn the gas off to it, when it gets blown out. When preheating an infrared burner, the hood/lid of the grill should be closed.I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.
