Gas grill ignitors

My gas grill ignitor stopped working so i purchased a new one, but it doesn't work either. is there a way to test the igintor itself, off of the grill to see if it is indeed the ignitor or something else? (my grill is a charmglow three burner grill)

Check the electrode.  That is the end at the burner.  It may be corroded and no longer creating a spark.

How do I replace ignitor switch in thermos gas grill, if this is what is what I saw?

The switch is a button on a black box that holds a battery. The igniter is connected to the switch with a wire. If the wire is broken, you need to replace the whole igniter. The igniter (with wire) and the switch are both available for a few dollars pretty much anywhere that sells gas grills.

I installed a new 7509 ignitor on my 13 year old weber genesis gas grill and the gas does not ignite when pushing the ignitor button. I installed the ignitor with the box opening on the bottom and checked with a mirror and there is spark when the ignitor button is pushed. The burner lights with a match and the gas tank is full and turned on. Only thing I can think of is maybe the ignitor box opening needs to be turned toward the burner but I don't want to mess with it till I know for sure that is the problem. Any help much appreciated

If the spark you see is in the ignitor box and not at the burner(s), then there's a wire loose somewhere or the ignitor is not grounded properly. Also check to see if the ignitor tips in the grill next to burner(s) are covered with grease. If so, clean them with a cotton ball dipped in alcohol. Check each ignitor wire at each ignitor , make sure they are secure,

Kenmore LPG Grill Model 141.16313800 I last used this grill 2 weeks ago and there are no problems. Yesterday I tried to use it but I can't light the grill. So I replaced the propane tank (the old one feels like it's not empty). After trouble shooting as per manual, the grill still fails to operate. The burners are not plugged. New battery installed for the ignitor and they spark when checked. Already purged air from the gas line. When I check if there are any obstruction in the gas line, I did not smell the LPG before I reconnect it to the grill. Please help. Many thanks!

Relace your propane regulator, they do go bad form sitting around, had the same problem you have. you should be able to disconnect from the grill, turn on the regulator and smell the propane, if not it's bad.

My 4 burner Turbo natural gas grill will not ignite.

Did you check if the ignitor has a coil? If there is, check or replace the coil. 1. Loosen or remove the screws securing the glow igniter to the burner. Follow the two wires attached to the igniter. At the end farthest from the igniter will be a wire pull apart quick disconnect. Disconnect the glow coil at that point.2. Install the new coil exactly as you found the existing coil. Replace each part in reverse order. Plug in the stove and turn it on. The oven burner now should work.Thank you and good luck!

Has it got a battery or has it got a Pitzo crystal? They eventually wear out, you may need to replace the ignitor button unit.

I have a Grand Turbo 5 burner grill that is supplied by natural gas. When I open any one of the 5 valves to start the grilling party that is sure to follow, I hear the familiar high-pitched tone of the gas filling the burner, I hit the ignitor and....we have ignition!! But, the burner only stays lit for approximately1-2 seconds then dies out due to no gas flow. If I immediately repeat the process......nothing. But, if I wait for about 10 minutes and try again I get the same 1-2 seconds of flame then....nothing. Party's over folks.....

Hi, things to check, the Gas Regulator, the Hose, the Fitting... any protection circuitry. This is often caused by a faulty regulator, that won't supply the Gas properly.

Continously firing ignitors???

Hi, This spark module has a feed back from each of burner igniters and when it senses the flame - it stops sparking. Most likely you switched around the wires from the front burner igniters and the spark does not receive the right input. If you turn on both front burners at the same time - does it stop sparking? If it does, just switch the wires around If it doesnt stop sparking, then Check the electrical connection to the stove for possible reversed polarity and proper grounding.Check all burner igniters for any damages (cracked or broken ceramic insulation).Check all burners for proper assembly. Check if the burner cap is in place on every burner.Clean all burner igniters, using a rubbing alcohol. To check the burner ignitor switch A good place to start would be the burner ignitor switches. Each burner control has a switch with two wires going to it. (One at a time) You can remove one wire from each switch to see if the sparking stops. If so then you have a shorted burner ignitor switch. Make sure the metal tip of the wire doesn’t touch you or ground. Another possibility is a spilled liquid or a cleaning stuff could get inside a switch, causing a short.
