KENMORE Gas Grill 141-152210 Kenmore 437 sq. in cooking will only heat to 250 degrees

Sudsy, this exact same thing would happen to me every time I changed a tank. I know it's nothing to do with the grill itself. I would have to seat and reseat the regulator hose to the tank a couple of times before it would start heating normally. Your model has 3 burners and I suspect that the flame is real low on each one even on the high setting. Try connecting and disconnecting the tank a couple of times and see if it comes to life. If worse comes to worse you can order a new regulator hose. Part number P3632L. back.

We definitely neglected this bbq. After last summer..leaving it with meat drippings and water which molded the entire inside of the grill as well as rusted the metal on the grate and the tray underneath it. Its also been sitting out side since then. Is there a way we can clean it at this point or should we just replace the top grate or can we do that. We're really looking forward to using it this summer and will take better care of it. Thanks

Morgan, unfortunately, it has passed the point of taking better care of it this summer. In addition to replacing the grates, you will probably have to replace the burner(s) and the venturi valve(s), as well as the tray underneath. It will cost you just as much to replace all the parts (if you can find them) , as it would be to replace the grill with something equal to the Road Trip Grill. The accessories you'll need the most are a brass grill cleaning brush and a good quality grill cover (not a $9.99 special).Sometimes, it's just not worth fixing some things.

Cleaning the grates?

Grill is easy to lift, i usually soak grill like that and then whipe off, that is usually sufficient. if you have some really bdly ingrained bits, then spray it with oven cleaner, leave for few second and then whipe off, then wash as normal. if this is coated (teflon) grill, then do not use this method! soaking only!hope this will help, if you find advice useful, please leave your comment and vote for me, thanx!

I just bought this smoker from Home Depot and i was looking at the grates, it looks like paint or something on them< my question is should I build a big fire in the grill first to burn the paint off the grates or how should I go about setting the grates and get ready to smoke or grill some meat.

Follow the instructions and season the smoker you will be fine. Happy SMOKEING!!!!!!!
