Center control knob/burner

Yesterday I noticed my center burner wasn't working. After a few minutes I saw a small flame under the center control knob. I turned the knob off, with some difficulty. Any idea what caused this problem? Can I replace the knob and connecting tubes?

Problem with gas getting to the front burner

Follow manufacturer's recommendation in resetting the excess flow safety device....(Turn burners and LP cylinder off...Disconnect regulator on cylinder. Turn both knobs to high for at least one minute...Then turn them to off...reconnect the regulator to the LP tank...Turn LP valve VERY slowly (30 seconds) until fully opened..then start the grill in the usual manner. Two burners run too hot with yellow flame.

Hello,It sound like your back burners have a partial blockage or possibly are rusting or falling apart or have cracked seams. Remove the cooking grids and burner shields, and examine the burners closely. If you can't find a blockage inside (spider web, bugs nest, etc) then their condition is probably deteriorating. Let us know if you need more assistance.

I am renting a condo with an old Weber Grill - 2 burner / LP (I think it is a Genesis Silver A ('00-01) model . I have very little gas pressure at the burner tubes. - Front tube flickers on/off with the front control turned on full; and - When the back tube is turned on there is not enough gas pressure in the manifold to keep the front tube burning. I have: 1) a full tank; 2) a working regulator; 3) cleaned out some sort of insect nest (spiders?) in the metal inlet tube between the regulator hose and the manifold. But still I have not improved the gas pressure at the tubes. I assume that: 1. There are nests in the manifold; and / or 2. Nest in front of the venturi nozzles in the burner tubes. Are these assumptions correct; and are the parts cleanable (they look reasonable rusted after 10 years); or should I just buy new burner tube kit and a new manifold kit?

Yes the best option for just for you is to buy a new burner, tube kit and a new manifold kit because all the things that you said you removed from the burner must have caused alot of rust on the burner and if you keep welding the burner there will still be linkage after awhile so the best thing is just for u replace the burner.

Middle burner looks ok but has huge yellow flame

Sounds to me like the new burner that was put on, has the wrong gas orifice in it. Possibly a nat gas orifice instead of a propane orifice. If it's a propane grill, take it to your local propane co and have them look at it. Also, sometimes just a spiderweb or dirt dobber nest in the burner's venturi tube can cause that kind of problem. Blow it out with an air compressor and see if that's the problem.

Check the orifice, they are the culprit most of the time. Be careful when cleaning the orifice its a small hole and you do not want to enlarge it
