Guide :Grilling : GP200 Grill

We have a brand new George Forman Grill2Go propane grill for outdoor use. We followed the directions for assemblying the regulator to the propane bottle, did the test for leaks, etc, But when we turned on the gas, used the igniter, nothing ignited. We turned it off for 5 min.& tried again...nothing. First time for portable gas grill use, but this shouldn't be hard. Any suggestions?

You got part of the solution correct. The 5 minute part, but you skipped a couple of steps.Turn the gas tank valve OFF. Disconnect the hose from the tank. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank. Open the tank valve VERY, VERY, Slowly (Slow motion, slow). Once the valve is fully open, turn the burner ON and push the ignitor button. When the burner lights, turn it to it's highest setting. If you have 2-burners, light the second the same way you did the first one. Do all the flame heights look correct? If so, you solved the problem. If the above didn't solve the problem. you will need to replace the grill's hose/regulator assembly. As the OPD Valve in the gas tank, permanently locked up the regulator. Since your is a brand new grill with warranty that's enforce, contact the manufacturer for a replacement. Have you proof of Purchase handy, when you call them.Hope this helped you solve the problem. Happy Grilling!!

Won't ignite The gas does not seem to be getting through to the burner. When the valve is turned on you can here the usual sound but there is no smell of gas (I even replaced the fuel tank with a new full one) and the spark is there but nothing ignites. Even when I tried lighting with a match...nothing. Could the regulator be the issue? There also had been some pretty heavy rains the last couple of weeks since I last used the grill. Any suggestions?

KENMORE Gas Grill 141-152210 Kenmore 437 sq. in cooking will only heat to 250 degrees

Sudsy, this exact same thing would happen to me every time I changed a tank. I know it's nothing to do with the grill itself. I would have to seat and reseat the regulator hose to the tank a couple of times before it would start heating normally. Your model has 3 burners and I suspect that the flame is real low on each one even on the high setting. Try connecting and disconnecting the tank a couple of times and see if it comes to life. If worse comes to worse you can order a new regulator hose. Part number P3632L. Catriver..post back.

One side won't light.

Prior to attching the hose from the regulator to the tank, I turned on all five burners, opened the gas to the tank, allowed the gas to run a few minutes to equalize, be careful when turning on as the gas has built up. I have had no problems since. I belive part of the problem is that my grill has an automatic ignitor, that can be problematic after changing to a new tank. Thats why I had the burners on (open) prior to attaching the new tank prior then opening the valve on the tank so it doesn't ignite.

Ignite prob I have 3 yr old Silver B Weber. This is first yr I've kept covered outside all winter. (snow & rain, Indiana) Now I'm trying to use 1st time since last fall. When I turn on gas (full tank), open burner valve, ignite spark. Nothing! When I use manual fire lighter just the first (front burner) ignites (other 3 burners don't ignite when valves opened). Is there a method to clean out burners or something? Need new spark igniter?

You've got two different things going on.  First - the type of igniter used on your model does wear.  I have had mine for over 10 years and have gone through 3 such igniters - and I grill nearly 3 times per week over the 25 week "grilling" season where I live. Spring for the $12 part and just replace it. The other issue sounds like a clogged cross-over system.  I would remove the burners, including the cross-over bar on the far left side that connects them.  Clean the exterior with a stiff steel/brass brush and the inside with a bottle brush.  Make sure all the holes are clear to allow gas to flow easily - use a wooden tooth-pick to do this to make sure you don't change the size of the holes! Put that baby back together and I think you'll find you'll be good as new! These grills are great.  Now, if Weber could only fix the uneven heat problem between the left and right side I'd REALLY be happy!  (I wish they would even just admit there IS a problem!) Good luck and happy grilling.

Can not adjust flame.

It sounds like the grill just needs a good cleaning, plus when you do clean it check that the burner tubes and orfaces are free of any debris. The orface is a tiny hole inside a small brass threaded insert where the gas blows through into the burner tubes, it is very critical that this is clear as well as the burner tubes.

My grill won't light, and I don't hear gas running

I had the same problem with my grill once last year and again this year. I installed the tank on my son's grill and it worked perfectly. Try replacing the regulator, it worked for me.

Hi, I have just bought a Weber 100 BBQ. I have a

You have a couple of questions. In order: 1. Flame may not be visible because it burns very clean. 2. When they say 'turn gas off', they actually mean 'turn gas tank off'. 3. It's not necessary to remove the tank after every use. Just make sure the gas valve is off and the entire grill and tank are covered. I do remove the tank, and store it in an outdoor shed during the winter.
