Individual burner knobs not functioning

Our grill has 3 burners each with an individual knob to control heat. No matter what setting the knobs are on the flame continues on high. Is the problem with the knobs or some other part? What can I do to fix it.

Individual burner knobs not functioning

This is a problem with the regulator. Sounds to me like the pressure coming from the regulator is too high. You can get these regulators at most major hardware stores or directly from the manufacturer. Hope this helps

I have a new Weber Summit Grill. It is connected to a natural gas line. I believe that I am following the directions but the burner flame won't stay on. In other words, I push in the first big knob on the right (next to the little one at the far end), I push it in, hear the click and wait five seconds to see the burner come on. I don't see the burner flames go on and when I release the knob, the flame goes out and any noise of the gas feed stops. Also after releasing the knob at the spark signal, when I try to turn the knob further to the right, it won't move.It is July 4, I have an expensive, highly recommended grill, but it is not coming on. Thanks.

Hi, I see you've been waiting an hour. Sorry about that. Maybe you have it fixed by now? On a new installation, it may take a while to get gas thru the pipe and out the burner. Do you smell gas when your hold the knob in? If not, hold it in until you smell gas or the burner lights. It may take a couple of minutes.

My grill burners burn unevenly and usually too high. Adjustment?

If this is a natural gas grill, check to see if it has a regulator on the gas line. If it does not, you can install a regulator to reduce the gas flow.

Main Burners completely rusted out; control knobs to burner...

Get replacement burners and preheat them once. Then paint them with high temp enamle paint to withstand the temps of the grill. The burners are regular untreated steel and not the stainless that one would expect. Painting them will prevent them from rusting out after 2 years. Just make sure you temper them once before you paint them as they will expand a little. Then paint them and enjoy!

Flare behind temperature knobs on jenn-air gas grill

This seems to be a problem for most Jenn-Air users. The burners are defective, rusted or clogged and allowing the flame to "back up." You most likely have a melted electronic ignitor as well as gas valve damage. The new burners that I received this week for my model 720-0061-LP are 1/2 inch shorter than previous versions. Time will tell if this fixed the problem. I would call Nexgrill and get all new burners and inspect the gas valve area for damage. Since 2004, I am on my 5th set of burners, glad they were free since I have a lifetime warranty on my model.
