Won't ignite The gas does not seem to be getting through to the burner. When the valve is turned on you can here the usual sound but there is no smell of gas (I even replaced the fuel tank with a new full one) and the spark is there but nothing ignites. Even when I tried lighting with a match...nothing. Could the regulator be the issue? There also had been some pretty heavy rains the last couple of weeks since I last used the grill. Any suggestions?

My grill won't light, and I don't hear gas running

I had the same problem with my grill once last year and again this year. I installed the tank on my son's grill and it worked perfectly. Try replacing the regulator, it worked for me.

Gets soaked after even light rain. The cart doors, which have no drain holes, but have side trays, fill with water, and the grill cart inside gets wet. The igniter on the rotisserie burner would not spark after the last rain, until the burner was manually lit with a lighter, and the electrodes dried out. Covering the grill after each use defies the purpose of having a nice looking stainless steel grill.

Grills, whether they are stainless steel or not, are not designed to keep out the weather, bird droppings, pollen, etc. Using the cover will help maintain the look and integrity of the grill, as well as the warranty. Warranties don't cover damage due to neglect. Impressing the neighbors with a nice looking stainless steel grill is one thing. Impressing them with the way if cooks is even better. Especially, if it works as it should each time.Happy Grilling!!

Kenmore LPG Grill Model 141.16313800 I last used this grill 2 weeks ago and there are no problems. Yesterday I tried to use it but I can't light the grill. So I replaced the propane tank (the old one feels like it's not empty). After trouble shooting as per manual, the grill still fails to operate. The burners are not plugged. New battery installed for the ignitor and they spark when checked. Already purged air from the gas line. When I check if there are any obstruction in the gas line, I did not smell the LPG before I reconnect it to the grill. Please help. Many thanks!

Relace your propane regulator, they do go bad form sitting around, had the same problem you have. you should be able to disconnect from the grill, turn on the regulator and smell the propane, if not it's bad.

I have a Uniflame gas grill, model #GBC730W. It is about 2 years old and used less than 20 times. When I light the grill, it heats up to about 150 degrees, and the flame goes out. It usually won't re-light with the striker once this happens, but I can use a long lighter and light the burners from underneath the grill. When I first noticed this, I did a thorough cleaning on it and used it once and it worked great. I tried to use the grill last night and the burners went out again...any suggestions?

If you are lighting the grill and allowing it to run in the preheat/clean setting untill it warms up then adjusting the temp/heat range to suit cooking needs. There is no automatic setting for temperature so there is no flame sensor to fail. Check that the LP gas valve on the bottle is open about 3/4 of a turn as this may cause intermittent ingition failure due to rapid cycling of the gas regulator. If this is helpful please leave feedback. Thanks, SnugglePants

We have intermittent low gas flow to our Viking grill. We have replaced the burners and the regulator. It worked fine on Sunday but now today only the first burner lights (and it's low even though I have it on high). As soon as I try to light the second burner you can hear the gas flow diminish and the first burner barely burns. Very frustrated!

Lynn, the problem lies with the gas regulator and the way you turn the tank ON. But it's readily solvable.1. Turn the tank valve OFF & disconnect the hose from the tank.2. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank.3. Open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow).4. Once the valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and set it on HIGH. Does the flame height look correct? If so, light the remaining burners the exact same way. Do all the flame heights look correct? If so, your solved the problem. Always remember to open the tank valve Very, Very Slowly. If that didn't solve the problem, you will need to replace the grill's Hose/Regulator Assembly. They run about $30.00 at any hardware store or home center that sells grills and accessories. Simply take you old one with you for comparison purposes.Hope this helped you troubleshoot & solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

Problem with gas getting to the front burner

Follow manufacturer's recommendation in resetting the excess flow safety device....(Turn burners and LP cylinder off...Disconnect regulator on cylinder. Turn both knobs to high for at least one minute...Then turn them to off...reconnect the regulator to the LP tank...Turn LP valve VERY slowly (30 seconds) until fully opened..then start the grill in the usual manner. ALWAYS TURN THE LP TANK OFF WHEN DONE USING THE GRILL....
