The regulator freezes on my three burner Barbeques Galore Grill

I replaced the tank with a full tank and the regulator froze with a white coat of frost and the burners made singing noises. I replaced the regulator with a new one and the same thing happened. I put the old almost empty tank back on and again the same thing happened.

The regulator freezes on my three burner Barbeques Galore Grill

This can happen when an excessive amount of propane gas is used or when if the tank you are using is not sitting upright, therefore allowing liquid propane to exit the tank through the regulator.

Regulator freezing up

Did you replace the regulater with a manufatures replacement for you grill or did you use an after market one? the reason i ask is because propane is very cold in liquid form and if your regulater allows more of the liguid to go to your burners than it should the moisture in the air will contact the outside of your regulater and freeze up on it. excessive propane would not change the color of the flame, however the i would check the burners to make sure that there are no blocked holes this would cause this to happen as well you are still safe to use the grill but cleaning the burners is a good idea. also there is a rating on the regulater make sure it matches the old one you replaced it with........good luck

STS Turbo heat problem

Problem solved. The store FINALLY sent someone out who knows what they're doing. After about a hour of adjusting and tweaking he got it working fine. Apparently, the adjustments have to be made with the grill partially disassembled so flames can be viewed from top and bottom. Also, it needs to be load balanced with adjusting with all burners on, then with fewer and fewer burners on. Dan B.

I have a Weber spirit 3 burner grill. It's about three years old. If I turn on gas at regulator, no problem. Once I turn on gas at grill and then light the grill, I begin to smell gas. I've taken off the grilling grates and the diffusers, so I can see the burners. They are all lit. I've inspected the hose, and it seems to be in good condition. I've sprayed it and just about everything else with soapy water and I don't see any gas escapiing. The only thing that looks slightly abnormal is that the rear burner is burning a little less high, and a little bluer than the two front burners. Otherwise, everything looks ok.

Did you check round the burner control knobs

BBQ Galore Capt'n Cook 4 burner gas grill won't get hot.

Most modern gas regulators have a safety feature to prevent gas left on. If you shut off the tank first and then turn off the burners, it will trigger and keep the gas flow at a very reduce flow to prevent you from turning on the tank again with the burners left on and not realizing it. Turn everything off and then turn on tank first, followed by the burners and this will solve most problems of a low flame or a bbq that won't get hot.

Burner 1 and burner 2 from right to left work very well, burner 3 acts as if the regulator is malfunctioning. Comes on very low, blow back thru the regulator tube. Multiple trys of turning off gas, disconnecting and resting the regulator, with 1 and 2 working perfectly with minimum propane turned on but number three will not work, still acting if the regulator was malfunctioning

try cleaning burner 3 could be blocked , or it could be split , the air mix could be wrong you can move the air mix slider to give more or less air , see if the orffice is blocked . or you could try changing the reg but don't see that being the fault.

Jenn Air grill burners only lite on one side

It could be a bad regulator but, highly unlikely . Check your air shutters at the end of the burner tubes and adust them properly. And if you have a OPD propane tank you maybe turning it on to quick causing the check valve inside the gas valve to open half way. Try opening the valve slowly.

I have a 3 or 4 year old Genesis Three Burner Weber Grill. The grill when turned on would only get up to about 250 to 300 degrees. I bought a new regulator and hose and it seems no gas was going to the flame tubes . . . no smell of gas. I bought another regulator and hose and no gas again. Then I turned the gas tank valve on slowly and the gas came out. I got the temperature up to 550 degrees. Great! The next time I turned the gas on and tried to start the grill, again, no gas flowing. I turned the tank valve on slowly several times but to no avail. What is the problem? Thanks, Alan

The gas in the bottle is not a just pure gas but it is contain also very small quantities of oils and dirt. So with long time use they are creating a thin layer over regulator and valve parts, like springs and injector rods which make them to stuck. This what is happening with th tank gas valve which you may turn the regulator but the inside parts are stuck. Sometimes if you hit a litle bit it can work again but this is not a solution. The solution is to replace the tank gas valve with new one. Also you should know that since you have this problem with tank valve then most posible to have also some problem with burners gas valves in the future. One way to avoid this and also with the new tank valve is when you realise that the gas tank is almost empty the is better to replace the tank since the last gas in geting out the most of the above mention oil and dirt and end on the valves.
