Gas BBQ - Won't light

I have a Vermont Castings BBQ and recently switched the propane tanks. THe grill was working fine and now it does not seem to be getting any gas. I hooked up the new tank and turned it on and it won't fire. There is no smell of propane and the starter is not the issue as I also tried lighting it manually. Is it possible the connection is not being made at the tank? Are there gaskets that I need to check for on the tank and connector to make sure it is set up properly? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have a BBQ Galore Turbo. It is built into a BBQ Island. When I press the knob and turn it to the right to light the grill, it clicks at the first point (which it is where it is supposed to light.) It doesn't light. There is gas going to the grill, as I can light it with a match or lighter. Is this an ignitor problem? There is no ignitor button, it's a part of the burner switch. What do I do?

Usually in the knob is a battery. Replace or add if there is none.

BBQ lights but gas does not travel down burner bar.. The flame only lights at the jet area..

Turn off the LP Gas Tank Valve. Disconnect (unscrew) the grill hose from the tank. Wait 5 minutes and reattach the hose to the tank. Turn the tank valve on very very slowly, until it's fully open. Then try lighting each burner one at a time. If that solves your problem remember to turn the tank valve on very very slowly if you turn it off after each use or after replacing the tank.If that didn't solve your problem, you'll need to remove the burners and check for any obstructions and clean the burners while you have them out. Please let me know if that solved the problem.

Motorhome with propane line made for bbq. Bbqs (2 different brands) will light, but wont cook. Flame height very minimally affected by HI-Med-Low setting, but both bbqs work fine on other propane sources, small bottles, other motorhomes, etc. Other propane appliance on subject motorhome works great, propane level not low-no spiders/webs in lines or bbqs. Flex propane line/fittings to bbq works fine on other motorhomes. No quick disconnect fittings in use. Motorhome supply line not clogged as other appliance-(stove in motorhome) works great. All connections checked repeatedly for obstruction, teflon tape reside, other obstructions-none found. Problem 1 1/2 yrs old.

Are the burners blocked or the orfice or the gas on /off controls blocked

No gas getting to bbq

I switched to the new style 20# tank with the new turn-on knob.  I couldn't get enough gas pressure to the BBQ burners for all three burners to light or to keep a strong flame on even one burner.  The new style tanks have a safety valve on the inside of the tank that shuts the gas off if you turn the knob on too fast because the safety valve thinks there is leak.  Shut everything off and then try turning the knob on real slow, especially at first, before turning it all the way on.  If that doesn't work (it didn't for me), then replace the large plastic connection valve knob (female end) that attaches the regulator to the tank.  Mine was for the old style tank and was black (low pressure).  I went to a propane company and had them replace it with a green knob (higher pressure).  Took it home and WALA!  Everything works fine now.  But it was very frustrating trying to figure why I couldn't get any gas to the burners after buying a brand new tank.  I hope this helps solve your problems.
